The Volunteer Center of the Brazos Valley, a partnership of Brazos Valley Council of Governments and the United Way of the Brazos Valley, promotes volunteerism as a means of fostering increased citizen involvement in Brazos, Burleson, Grimes, Leon, Madison, Robertson and Washington counties, enriching the communities and the lives of its residents through volunteerism.
Our Mission is to connect all people of the Brazos Valley with opportunities to serve. Our Vision is to provide community agencies with essential resources and training and to coordinate programs that raise awareness and impact of local needs and services.
The Volunteer Center of the Brazos Valley acts as an advocate for volunteerism by:
• Advising and providing training for agency staffs and volunteers.
• Referring volunteers through a web-based databank, www.volunteerbrazosvalley.org
• Utilizing volunteers to identify and address community issues to insure the enrichment of the Brazos Valley.
“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world, Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has’” Margaret Mead, American anthropologist, 1901-1978.
